Catalog Spotlight: University College Cork
Read Case Study
University College Cork offers an extensive undergraduate programme, but as a research intensive institution focusing on postgraduate research, many UCC students are taking non-traditional courses through continuing professional development, executive education and outreach education.
While around 20% of these students are taking accredited courses, such as postgraduate diplomas or Masters degrees, many are taking non-accredited courses.
UCC first started offering these courses in 1946, enabling and empowering adult learners to take short courses across a wide variety of academic units.
In 2016, the university created a new centre for CPD to better coordinate community learning and build more structure into the process. This was a hugely important mission, with UCC committed to delivering lifelong learning across the local, national and international communities and industries. The university turned to Catalog to help achieve this important goal.
