ASSESSMENT LITERACY MATTERS
High-quality assessments =
High-quality insights.
Nearly all educators agree that their schools’ culture is assessment-focused, but less than two-thirds of educators reported feeling comfortable with the current assessment creation process and course standards. Assessment literacy starts with mastering course standards, creating a high-quality assessment, and ultimately evaluating how effective the assessment was.
Assessment literacy can significantly impact students' attitudes toward learning.

ASSESSMENT MUST-HAVES
Quality, reliability, and validity, according to educators.
Assessment remains top-of-mind for educators. Many report re-evaluating their assessments at least once annually. As they evaluate, the overwhelming majority want assessment items to be three characteristics:
High-quality (91%)
Reliable (91%)
Valid (90%)
This data confirms what we’ve known to be true–an assessment is only as helpful as it is reliable.
DATA-DRIVEN DECISIONS
The right tech provides the right data
51% of educators agreed that a top driver of technology usage is if the technology provides valuable data. Other features educators want from assessment technology include the ability to:
Track student mastery (46%)
Align content to standards (46%)
Receive real-time data (42%)
Assessment technology should provide the data and functionality for educators to know students’ stories and meet them where they are.
