Canvas LMS: ESSA Level IV K-12 Logic Model
Instructure developed a logic model for Canvas LMS in K-12 settings and designed the logic
model to satisfy Level IV requirements (Demonstrates a Rationale) according to the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA).
Instructure acknowledges that students have differing K-12 instructional experiences due to
various barriers, such as limited access and resources. In response, Instructure developed Canvas LMS to ensure equitable access to high-quality instructional experiences for all K-12 students and to serve as a learning hub for students, educators, administrators, and families.
The study had the following objectives:
1. Define the Canvas LMS in K-12 logic model and foundational research base.
2. Document an ESSA Level III study design.
