In July, we shared news that Apple introduced a free online professional learning course for Develop in Swift, available on the Canvas Learning Management System. If you haven’t already checked it out, the Develop in Swift offering on Canvas includes everything educators need to inspire future app developers with Swift, Apple’s powerful and intuitive open-source programming language. You can also access free online course materials on Canvas Commons to facilitate remote learning.
Designed to deepen engagement with high school and higher education students in remote learning environments, Develop in Swift courses provide students with key concepts of computer science while building a solid foundation in app development. The curriculum also prepares students for college with AP credit, or a career in programming with industry-recognized certification. And it’s all available on Mac, which supports all major programming languages—making it an ideal device for learning to code.
Develop in Swift courses are great for students new to coding as well as those with previous experience preparing for careers in the growing app economy. Apple’s collection of course materials on Canvas Commons includes the introductory Develop in Swift Explorations and AP® CS Principles courses, followed by Develop in Swift Fundamentals. The Develop in Swift Data Collections course will be made available this Fall.
We’re excited to continue support of educators teaching and learning Swift to inspire coding education.
